How can be benefit from augmented reality in education? Some applications allow the teacher or student to create augmented reality in the education field. The basic versions of these applications are free. Most of them only read the AR, which is created after registering on the publisher’s website. In this article, we will only introduce the most popular or commonly used in the classroom.
Mirage Make
This application, developed by Marc-Aurélien Chardine, makes it possible to expand a paper document or an object with images, audio, videos, 3D objects or qcms using a QR code or a printed image.
Some examples of classroom uses:
– Reading aid (dyslexia, visual disturbances, etc.)
– Animation of conversations
– Visualization of 3D elements of the universe, molecules, polygons, monuments.
– Image captions
– Creating multiple choice quizzes with video and sound
– Creating an augmented manual or an enhanced technical sheet.
To register for the Mirage Make project, and create your own augmented reality in education.

HP Reveal – augmented reality in education
This application (formerly Aurasma) allows you to embed images, videos, audio, or internet links (the “overlays”) thanks to a trigger element (the “Trigger”) which can be any element. of reality captured by the tablet camera. Compared to Mirage Make, it therefore eliminates the need for a QR code or paper image, so might be even more easy to use the augmented reality in education.
The app allows you to create and play AR. However, the website offers more possibilities, such as inserting more events into the scene, as well as many more interactions.

Augment
Augment platform allows you to generate textured 3d models (.DAE, .OBJ, .STL, .ZAE or .KMZ formats) on the website, and to visualize them in augmented reality using a marker or tracker. The system works with trackers that must be printed (3 possible pocket sizes, A4 and A3). The virtual objects that you will see will be attached to the printed marker.
The platform also allows you to display a 3D model in reality without a marker, which is very practical when visualizing f.ex. a furniture in the class.
